Bode Museum
Commissioned by Wilhelm von Bode, the Bode Museum
is a new Baroque building designed by the court architect
Ernst von Ihne and constructed between 1897-1904. In
the centre of the main hallway stands a replica of a statue
by Andreas Schlüter of the Elector Friedrich Wilhelm
astride his horse. The hallway is noted for its basilica that
reaches up over two floors. Full of rich exhibits the
overall impression is that of the interior of a renaissance
church.
